We imagine “Madonna” concerts to be giant extravaganzas filled with middle-aged men and women swooning to “Like A Prayer” and striking “Vogue” poses while being galvanized by fireworks and Madonna’s amazing, 50-year-old boobs physique. But when the show is over, who the hell is going to pay for all of the damages left by concert-goers who haven’t been out to a concert in years because they couldn’t get anyone to babysit their rugrats? Well, in Germany, soccer paid the price.

Madonna’s midweek concert at Eintracht Frankfurt’s Commerzbank-Arena stadium has had unfortunate consequences for the club, who have been forced to postpone Friday night’s Bundesliga fixture at home to Karlsruhe because of damage to the pitch caused by concertgoers.

The German Football League said that the grass was too badly damaged to allow the match to go ahead.

Stadium officials replaced part of the turf after Tuesday’s concert but there still remained too many irregularities, leaving it unplayable, said the League.

Oh come on! They put heaps of fucking dirt at the Home Depot Center for X Games and transform the pothole-riddled landscape into a fine playing field for the Los Angeles Galaxy to lose on and you’re telling us they couldn’t get some divots repaired? Unless there were scorched frankfurts glazed over the surface like gummy-lard, then we understand. But, if not, then the grounds crew needs to get axed. Pronto.
