New MacBook To Resemble MacBook Pro, Still On Track For Release Any Day Now

The last time the Apple updated its MacBook was late winter, so we’re about due for some sort of update. Luckily for us, it looks like the upcoming upgrade is going to be significant.

The new MacBooks, which should be quietly announced in the new few weeks—quietly announced meaning they’ll show up on Apple’s Web site without any big press conference—have allegedly been spotted “in the wild,” so to speak. The biggest difference, aesthetically, is that the MacBook will resemble a MacBook Pro: a silver aluminum case with black trim.

That’s sorta weird, especially since Apple, since the days of the iBook, has made its consumer laptop, um, “cheaper” looking. The current version of the MacBook looks like a Fisher Price toy in comparison to the MacBook Pro. This would be the first time that both the consumer and professional laptops look so similar to each other.

Again, these new MacBooks should be make their debut sometime in the next few weeks, just in time for the holiday shopping season.
