If there’s ever a time you hope the mechanic isn’t smoking a cigarette near the pit stop, it would have been this weekend when Formula One Racing decided to have their first nighttime race. Ferrari driver Felipe Massa’s overwhelming need to pull away from a pit stop during the race cost him valuable time and points in the standings when he dismissed the pit stop crew’s speediness and burned rubber during fueling. The scenario was captured via photograph above, but we have one curiosity: is that pitchfork intended as punishment, or is it customary in the crew? The devil lurks everywhere. A few more pics after the jump.
