Apparently there have been numerous rumors over the last few months about the possible inception of a third installment of the most awesome of awesome movies from our stinkin’ childhood, “Ghostbusters” (Doe, Ray, Eegooooon!), but we had no idea since we’re constantly delving in the bunkers of athletic whoredom to have noticed. However, the movie just signed on to heavyweights in the writing community and it’s only a matter of time until the most annoying/fantastic siren in the history of, um, sirens will be ringing throughout theaters.

Two writers from the US version of The Office have been recruited to write a third instalment of Ghostbusters, according to trade newspaper Variety. Lee Eisenberg and Gene Stupnitsky’s hiring is seen as a sure sign the long-mooted comedy will finally be made.

Nerd-alert! Also, E!, the network who embedded our love-affair with Brooke Burke, revealed news that Dan Akroyd wants some new cast-members as well to give it the ol’ 21st Century kick it needs.
