The Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim dropped a can of whoop-ass on the fourth-place Yankees last night when they routed the pinstripes 12-1, including a six run sixth that saw them bat around the order while fans munched on sushi and played with their monkeys…rally monkeys, of course. Anyway, things began to heat up after Torii Hunter decided to storm into home plate even though he was out by a mile. That’s when the gangsta came out.
Sean Rodriguez started the inning with a home run, Guerrero hit a two-run homer later in the inning, and in the middle of the inning, the Angels’ Torii Hunter and the Yankees’ Ivan Rodriguez were ejected, after an incident that could result in suspensions for both players.
“He pushed me pretty hard, like a fight in the ‘hood,” Hunter said. “The ghetto came out. I hate that. I want to apologize to the fans for my temper flaring.” The players met after the game and apologized to each other.
The fight didn’t last too long, but both players were ejected and will likely face suspensions. But hey, hearing about the Yanks getting pummeled on in more ways than one will probably incite a smile upon a lot of baseball peeps. A rough video of the aftermath below.
