It’s been a very tense time in America lately. So if you’re like failed investment bank Lehman Brothers CEO Richard Fuld, you have to relieve stress somehow, and you just don’t have the money to visit your “special” masseuse in Chinatown. So you do what most of us do and head down to the gym and get on the treadmill to burn through some rage. But some people need to get a little extra rage out. That’s what Fuld found when he got to the gym, and someone who was apparently going to be hit hard by Lehman filing for bankruptcy decided to hit back. Literally. He decided to deck Fuld while he was on the treadmill and knock him the F out.

While former Lehman CEO Richard Fuld was testifying before the House Oversight Committee Oct. 6, CNBC reported he had been punched in the face at the Lehman Brothers gym after it was announced the firm was going bankrupt. CNBC and Vanity Fair contributor Vicki Ward said Fuld was attacked at the gym on a Sunday following the bankruptcy.
“From two very senior sources – one incredibly senior source – that he went to the gym after … Lehman was announced as going under. He was on a treadmill with a heart monitor on. Someone was in the corner, pumping iron and he walked over and he knocked him out cold. And frankly after having watched this, I’d have done the same too.”

Man, we want to knock someone out because our 401(K) is tanking. We’re sure the puncher wanted to do more than hit Fuld. Luckily for the ex-CEO, the guy’s credit card didn’t go through for the last batch of steroids he ordered.
