So you know all those fumbles and interceptions Tony Romo’s bumbled away this season that made you wonder, “What’s he thinking?” (/whispers) We think we know what he was thinking. It turns out the Romos and the Simpsons have been shopping around Dallas in anticipation of the biggest Texas wedding since the Lone Star State said I do to America after that whole messy divorce with Mexico.

One of my best Dallas snoops just happened to be in the original Neiman Marcus in Big D, shortly after Jessica Simpson and main man and Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo were in the store checking out big sparklers — the kind women wear on their left-hand ring finger.

I’m hearing the couple are talking about a winter wedding. Dallas fans can relax. The happy twosome are said to be planning to tie the knot well after the end of the NFL season, including the Super Bowl — should the Cowboys make it to the big game in Tampa, Fla.

Yes because leading up to the wedding there aren’t any blowups, cry-fests, bitching-fests, eating-fests, more cry-fests and “this-one-or-that-one”-fests that Romo’s going to have to deal with. As much as we love to think he’s going to get be the fiance in Chris Rock’s act (“Yeah, yeah, just tell me what time to be there”) we feel with a Jessica (Joe and Ashley and Pete and Lil’ Bubba) Simpson wedding, there’s going to be more drama putting this thing together than six seasons of Hard Knocks put together.
