When the awesomely named, kinda unproven MMA sensation Kimbo Slice takes to the octagon tomorrow night to pummel former UFC legend and WWE mid-carder Ken Shamrock for EliteXC, he will do so in some badass chest and head coverage. Kimbo has signed an apparel deal with TapouT, and the company has produced a line of pretty sweet Slice-specific shirts and hoodies to keep his rage warm and toasty in the winter months.
“Kimbo is the real deal,” said Mask, TapouT Founder. “He is the ultimate underdog who kept his nose to the grindstone and rose up to become one of the most well-known MMA fighters out there. Kimbo is tough, but full of heart, and we’re excited to take him from the cage to the clothing.”
“I want to thank the whole TapouT FAM for taking an interest in me and team Kimbo,” said Kimbo Slice. Also thank you guys for allowing us to be a part of your FAM…and the tightest gear out there. Hey man, my team is psyched, team Kimbo is psyched.”
In case you weren’t sure, Kimbo’s psyched. The T-shirts run a respectable $24 each, and the hoodies range from $56 to $64 each. TapouT is taking care of the bigger guys, too. For a few extra bucks you can order official Kimbo gear in sizes up to 3XL, which is a nice option to have. Given Kimbo’s own size, he probably couldn’t buy his own shirts without it.
As for the Slice/Shamrock imbroglio, you can catch that on CBS at 9 p.m. Saturday night. Be on time. Shamrock isn’t getting any younger, and Kimbo isn’t getting any smaller. Shamrock did beat The Rock for the intercontinental title at Wrestlemania XIV, only to have the decision overturned moments later because he couldn’t control his anger. So he does have that going for him, which is good.
That said, this has “quick, savage beating” written all over it.

Cost: T-shirts, $26. Hoodies, $56-$64. Add $2 for XXL, $4 for 3XL.

Yes, “Mask,” Kimbo truly is the “Ultimate underdog.” Regular underdogs don’t have a half dozen viral video’s demonstrating their ability to cripple opponents in underground bare-knuckle street fights.
