As we head into the second night of the MLB playoffs, we see six teams heading back to work. Two new teams entered the fray when Tampa Bay and the White Sox started their first game a couple of hours ago, and two series resume tonight when the Phillies-Brewers and Cubs-Dodgers go to work. Hopefully when the teams in Chicago go out to take the field, they’ll be a lot safer than Manny Ramirez was last night. When the Dodger was out playing left field, that’s when one Paul Solans of Chicago decided he’d see if Manny was a true dodger and lobbed a ball at him. In front of the whole buncha people. Yeah, so guess who was arrested last night…
Paul Solans, whose address is listed in the 2200 block of North Lincoln Avenue, was charged with misdemeanor reckless conduct for throwing the ball at Ramirez while the All-Star left fielder was playing his position, police said early Thursday.
Ramirez, who hit a homerun during the Dodgers 7-2 victory in Game 1, was not hit by the ball. Police said Solans was attending the game but could not say where he was sitting.
We’re going to say he was sitting somewhere around the left field bleachers. If not, the Mets should show up at his next arraignment to give him an outfielder’s glove and a bus ticket to their Spring Training in Port St. Lucie.
