Whas Happened In Sports Last Night

  • World Series Game Two: Rays’ pitcher James Shields threw 5 2/3 innings of shutout ball to capture his first win since the division series opener as Tampa Bay evened the series with Philadelphia. On the Phillies’ part, they need to solve that whole “runners left on base” bit because in the first two games of the Series, they’ve gone 1-for-28 with runners on base. Hard to win a championship with stats like that. Rays 4, Phillies 2 [TBO.com]
  • UEFA Cup: When the peace-loving hippies over at The Guardian start calling you “hapless,” then maybe it’s time to take a hint, Tottenham. Spurs lost to Udinese that saw Jamie O’Hara sent away… which was maybe good for him. [Guardian]
  • Champions League News: Will UEFA cave in to their ban on Atletico Madrid? Does an Atletico fan hurl racist epithets in the woods? [Yahoo]
  • MLS News: Do you still have your old soccer spikes from high school? Then maybe you could play for the new MLS Seattle franchise. The Sounders are holding open tryouts for a reality TV show. Wonder if they’ll get more ratings for that than an actual game. [MLS-Rumors.net]
