“We are extremely disturbed by the reports regarding the player’s potential involvement in the hit and run accident that unfortunately killed two women in the Dominican Republic… We take this matter very seriously and have begun an internal investigation to ascertain the facts. Our thoughts and sympathies are with the families of the victims.”Unfortunately, the Daily News’ website has set link templates that didn’t make them look so hot when they ran with this story.
Yes, what should the Mets do with the alleged hit-and-run murderer in the offseason? Trade him? Put him on waivers? We can just imagine this transplanted onto talk radio. “Yeah, they should totally get rid of that bum. I mean, he killed two broads, right? Plus, the guy couldn’t get a guy to ground out to save his life, if you know what I mean.”

Although to be fair, it doesn’t take an internet slip up to make the New York media look like jerks.

The Mets relievers have been killing fans all season. No reason to think that would stop now.

For the record i lived in D.R. for a short time ( 4 months) Santo Domingo to be exact, and there are not really any traffic laws. It is not that they do not exist but there are not really any traffic cops to enforce them. On several occasions I remember we almost had major accidents. (i guess you could call it that or blame it on the lack of police.) The police honestly take taxis to accidents and crazy stuff like that. At one point we were headed to a mojor market and the driver (D.R. resident) Drove a 18+ passenger van the wrong way on interstate like it was no big deal! CrazyCrazy stuff man.
