Puta madre, it’s like we’re going to start a whole section on this site just for Spanish racists. This time, they’re targeting F1 superstar Lewis Hamilton (again), but have upped the ante. They’ve moved their 13th-century ideals to the 21st and have gotten themselves a website where all the Hamilton-haters can try a “voodoo-style” curse and wish harm to him. Yup, they’ve created a flash page that’s modeled after the Brazilian Interlagos track where Hamilton will fight Felipe Massa for the championship on Sunday, and people can leave either nails, pocupine quills or pins in hopes of psychically causing Hamilton to blow a tire. Whether or not they want him to die in a fiery crash, we don’t know. We didn’t click through the site.

Hamilton’s McLaren team have admitted that their driver is “vaguely aware” of the website and offensive material. However former Jordan team owner Eddie Jordan said that the comments on the website would not affect Hamilton’s title hopes.

“I think that would not even remotely register in the brain cells of Lewis Hamilton,” he told BBC Radio 5 Live. “I think he is very happy to have been given the chance that he’s got.”

Earlier this year the FIA launched its EveryRace campaign after Hamilton was the target of racist abuse at a test session in Barcelona. They also warned Spanish circuits that the country’s two Grands Prix could be at risk if there was any repeat of the behaviour.

Between the warnings and bans UEFA has given teams like Atletico Madrid, to the F1 people saying this kind of fan behavior won’t be tolerated, Spain has been called out by more governing bodies than Zac Efron’s been called gay [Ed Note: Zac Efron’s gay.] We’re not so sure anything can really be done about it that won’t take decades of institutionalized government intervention and mandates that forcibly make people not be a bunch of idiots. So until then, we’ll just stick our noses up in the air when we talk about Spain, regardless if they have Penelope Cruz and siestas.
