So every year, Pirelli (yes, the same people that make the tires) releases a calendar that… um… is plenty different from anything that Goodyear could think of. While the stateside rubber companies are intent on making the few seconds that mechanicos look up at their walls titillating, Pirelli’s calendars make them think with themes that differ from the “bend over the car in your short-shorts” we see so often. It’s more like the Italian Vogue of ass calendars, and 2009 is no different. However, this year’s version of “The Cal,” as its known in certain circles, is taking a greener approach to distracting men while pouring eco-busting oil into Hummers. It was shot in Okavango Delta, Botswana and makes sure that we remember that outside the citiscapes The Cal usually focuses on, there is a world untouched by our excesses that gaunt, white women need to be placed into.
