If we’ve learned anything from le cinema, it’s that every scam has to have a beautiful lady in it. And there might not be many more beautiful than Colombian August 1994 Playmate of the Month Maria Checa, who engaged in a menage-a-trios of sorts with two Lehman Brothers executives who used her to funnel insider information back and forth. The Lehman traders—Jamil Bouchareb (who’s seeing Checa) and Matthew Devlin (whose wife got him the information)—would send messages via their “golden goose”—Checa’s code name—to collect information that would eventually reap them almost five million bucks.

Day trader Jamil Bouchareb, 27, steered some of those tips to… Checa, that she used to score an untold amount of profits using two accounts, Checa International and Playmate Capital, according to the Securities and Exchange Commission.

“We need the goose to pop its head out and show us the biz,” Bouchareb wrote in one e-mail when the tips ran dry. “Where has my goose gone? Come back little goose.”

Wow… sounds kinda kinky. Devlin pleaded guilty and Checa’s named in an SEC civil suit. So we’re going to take this time to look back at Checa’s gorgeousity… which might be heading to the slammer some time soon.
