While we’re not down with Muntadhir Al-Zaidi throwing shoes at President Bush (come on, it was f’d up, even considering the target), at least it brought the idea of tossing footwear as a sign of hate into the zeitgeist. If we hadn’t seen that, we wouldn’t know what the hell was going on in this clip showing supporters of the Turkish basketball team Turk Telecom throwing shoes at the Israeli squad Bnei Hasharon. And it’s like really heated shoe throwing, too, like when your mamma used to take off her shoe and smack you about the head after stealing those Kit-Kats from the 7-11 when you were five.
